Energy Creates is a participatory contest. To be eligible, complete all four steps in order. Most students finish steps 1–3 in under an hour. Step 4 is the creative part: take as long as you need.

Make something original that reflects on the Canadian energy sector. Film, painting, music, dance, writing, design, anything. Upload it through the portal before the deadline.
The contest is open to any original artistic work on the theme of the Canadian energy sector. Pick the format that lets you say what you want to say.
One submission per person. Pick the medium that does the work justice. Submissions made with generative AI tools are not eligible.

Submission window for the current cycle: opens at launch, closes on the official deadline posted on energycreates.com. Submissions after the cutoff are not accepted. All submissions are final.
Submit anonymously: your name should not appear in the work itself. Files must be legible, in the format listed above. Handwritten, faxed, or emailed submissions are not accepted.
Five scholarships are awarded each year. Each winner receives an amount equal to their tuition and mandatory fees at an accredited post-secondary program, up to a cumulative maximum of $100,000 CAD. The scholarship is applicable at any accredited institution in the world; field of study does not affect eligibility.
