The five Energy Creates scholarship trophies on the award show stage.

Energy Creates awarded $500,000 in scholarships to five Canadian students for creative work exploring the nation's energy future. Each winner received a full-tuition scholarship valued at up to $100,000, usable at any Canadian post-secondary institution.

Founder Mathew Embry called the recipients "Energy Superheroes," adding that they have "created powerful work that explores ideas Canada needs to hear." As in the first year, the strongest submissions made the case for a pragmatic, balanced energy mix of renewables, transitional fuels, and traditional sources.

The contest is open to creators aged 15 to 25 and accepts work in any medium. The winners were celebrated at an awards show broadcast on The News Forum.
