Scholarships Canada announced the opening of the Energy Creates contest, a nationwide challenge for Canadian students aged 15 to 25 in any field of study who plan to attend a post-secondary institution by 2028.
Five scholarships valued at up to $100,000 each cover tuition, mandatory fees, and more. To enter, students create an Energy Creates account, watch the documentary Help is on the Way (about 100 minutes), pass a 25-question quiz on the film, then submit a creative work with an artist statement of up to 500 words.
The submission responds to Canada's role in reducing energy poverty, the reality for more than a billion people across over 150 countries who live without reliable access to heat, power, or light. Work can take almost any form: short films, visual art, dance, music, writing, or photography.
Applications close February 15, 2026.
