The Framework of Our Energy Future
by Josiah Steeves
Hand-built replicas of Canada’s energy systems, staged on interchangeable landscapes to show employment, choice, and reliability.
About this work
A clear goal from the beginning: portray how all of Canada’s diverse energy creation methods can work together in beautiful synchronicity. Three factors anchor the piece. Employment: every energy system needs people to invent, develop, build, and operate it. Choice: a wide mix lets Canadians pick how to power their lives. Reliability: a single source is a single point of failure, and Canada’s variety keeps the lights on when one falters. Hand-built replicas of energy systems sit on interchangeable landscapes from across the country, with moving parts that signal an industry in constant motion through night, dawn, day, and dusk.
