The Great Energy Showdown

A rhyming children’s book introducing Canada’s energy mix through hydropower, solar, wind, nuclear, and fossil fuels.

About this work

A children’s book that explores hydropower, solar, wind, nuclear, and fossil fuels, with the positives and the trade-offs of each laid out in a format elementary school readers can digest. Rhymes and colourful illustrations introduce young Canadians to where their energy comes from and why the energy sector matters in everyday life. The book also frames a quieter point: no single source is perfect, and the diversity of Canada’s mix is what keeps power flowing when any one source falters.
